I don’t know much about the aftermath of the saga because of my previous resolution not to go looking too aggressively for news about it.
And I kept that resolution. Without telling you how, I’ll say that I found out almost by accident that she is graduating from a college tomorrow which may or may not be India Community College.
And since that’s the only fact I know, I can’t say whether that reflects well or poorly on Laura, on India Community College, and/or on humanity.
She may have lied her way out of her plagiarism troubles with aplomb and actually managed to not get disciplined (Making it a bad thing).
There might have been punishment, but it obviously stopped short of expulsion, maybe a failing grade for the course and probation, or some kind of community service penance, or something along those lines (Making it a good thing, because, in my opinion, she deserved no more and no less than to fail the course).
She may have had to leave India Community College, and it might be another school she’s graduating from tomorrow.
There’s a bunch of ways it could have turned out, and I don’t know which it was, so that lack of information leaves me powerless to actually pretend to have an opinion.
So, there’s your one fact for the day. Laura graduates tomorrow.

One of my overhearings of this past weekend has made it onto Overheard in New York, which you should be reading every day if you don’t already.
You can read it there, or maybe I’ll just paste it down under here. Overheard gave it the headline “What do you expect in a comic shop?”
Friend #1: There’s a virgin.
Friend #2: What?
Friend #1: There’s a virgin.
Friend #2: What?
Friend #1: There’s a Virgin record store out by Times Square. We should go.
Friend #2: Yeah.
—Midtown Comics, 40th & 7th.
Thanks to Sean Kelly for being with me in the shop, and confirming with me that I had heard what I thought I heard.
