Celebrate sketch comedy shorts at the second Video Night at the East River Bar! The first was an amazing success and if one subscribes to the idea that past performances can predict future outcomes, we can only induce that this one will also be an amazing success. Of course, induction itself requires a certain leap of faith. But hell, inductive reasoning has brought us all sort of scientific advancements, and like the scottish philosopher David Hume noted, if we refused inductive reasoning, we’d all starve to death.
I apologize… I have a philosophy degree and never get to use it.
In summary—
7pm—BYO-MEAT/FISH/VEGGIE/ETC. GRILLING
8pm—Sketch Comedy Videos! (Line-up to be announced soon!)
If you are interested in showing a video at Video Night, send me and email at mikestill AT gmail DOT com.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are also proud to announce our next run at the Peoples Improv Theatre. 11pm on the first three November Saturdays at the PIT, we’ll be rocking the space with the Bare Hand Wolf Chokers Association. We’ll let you know more about the show as we painfully squeeze it out of our brains over the next four weeks!
Till next time,
AWOK Mike

Thanks to everyone who came out to Video Night at the East River Bar. It was a tremendously kickass time. All said, over sixty people packed the bar’s patio, dining on meats ranging from catfish to steak. A huge thanks to Sara, bartending saint of the East River Bar, for being so accomodating. And another huge thanks to the Bare Hand Wolf Chokers Association for their co-sponsoring of the event.
And my god, there were some funny videos there. Where can you see them? How about right here:
Fearsome’s Abby Go Dabby!
Dustin D’Addato’s truly funny mock documentary (or, mock-documentary) on Eli Whitney:
Waverly Film’s gritty and foamy, Puppet Rapist, Episode 1:
Elephant Larry took to it with a crazy funny montage, including… the OCD:
Three Shorts from theburg.tv!
And the Bare Hand Wolf Chokers got their Power Point on in a Powerful way! Power!

Exciting news about the NEW Star Wars Movie:*Contains Spoilers*
Hey gang! I got a friend who works for a sound editing firm here in NYC. He’s RIGHT NOW doing some farmed out sound work on the NEW Star Wars Movie: “Episode III, Revenge of the Sith.” Now, he told me some REALLY exciting stuff and I thought I’d share it with you folks….I KNOW that Nate, Michael Still and Dan Hopper are BIG Star Wars fans. Because of this, I’m really only posting this for Erica and Allysha…From here on out, boys, this message will contain spoilers, SO…if you DO NOT want to know all the cool stuff that’s gonna’ happen (Mike, Dan, Nate) skip everything from the Spoiler warning until the “Spoiler Ends” part. O.K..
***********Spoiler Warning*****************
O.k., Erica, Allysha: I think I got rid of the other guys. Look, We NEED to kick the other guys out of the group! I think they want US out, so we have to be preemptive here. Didn’t you guys ever see “Survivor”? Well, this is JUST LIKE THAT, only it’s happening to us. DARTH VADER.
I’ve already come up with a new name for us: EWOK. I chose this one so that, when the boys are scrolling past the Spoiler they’ll see the Star Wars parts and think this really is about the movie. It could stand for “E Week of Knitting” or even “Every Wednesday, O.K.?” This will show our roots, but make it clear we’re a new deal.
I’m serious about this. I was hiding in Michael Still’s trunk trying to steal his sweater (so I could snuggle with it at night and fall asleep to his smell) when I heard him talking on the phone to Dan about ditching (hold on) WOOKIES (that should fool em’) anyways, ditching us and starting anew! Carpe Diem, EWOK. Let’s get on this.
**********Spoiler Ends*************************
Wow! Can you Believe it, gang? That Star Wars Movie is going to be something else, Lol! Well, Just had to share!
Faithfully yours,
Right Erica, Allysha ;) ?

This is the Week of Kindness weblog. In this “BLOG,” you will hear members of AWOK talk about social issues, civic duties, celebrity blunders, and snuff films.
I have to talk about a house keeping issue. As I was typing the first sentence, I had a dilemma. Do I type “this is the Week of Kindess weblog,” or do I type “this is the A Week of Kindness weblog?” I guess from here on out, I’ll just refer to the group as AWOK, avoiding any problems all together.
So… how about this weather? It’s so cold that if I had balls, they’d freeze off. but unfortunately, I don’t don’t have balls because they’ve been frozen off.
