The A Week of Kindness Show + A New Video: Bee Movie Bee-hind the Scenes!

There’s a new video in this post, but first, a word from the sponsors…

Free!

For this edition of The A Week of Kindness Show, you’ve got a pass to Peter Jackson’s Master Film Director Seminar!

Come see new bits and videos, and special performances by our special guests:

Gabe and Jenny

Nate Kushner

Matt McCarthy

Old Rich People

Chris O’Connor

Old Rich People

And now the video:

Special effects are not magic, but the magic of a film is special effects. The people who make special effects are usually off-duty sorcerers. As long as we appease them with a weekly tribute of enchanted crystal shards, they provide literal magic for our films.
However, not all of our special effects come from wizards. Some come from the real hard work of mere mortals, beings of flesh and blood who will grow old to see their dreams and loved ones die. Join us in paying tribute to the Bee Movie special effecticians.

Hey dad, where’s all the horses?

Thanks so much to everybody who came out to our inaugural variety show last night. It was incredibly fun. Special thanks to Sam Brown of the Whitest Kids U Know for being in the right place at the right time, and heroically and hilariously filling in for a guest in our hour of need.

Anyway, we debuted a new video last night, and here it is:

So, as you all know, Dan, Mike, and I are the third generation of A Week of Kindness. Our three grandfathers started this sketch group together at the turn of the century, playing music halls and vaudeville houses all over the world with their peculiar blend of sketch comedy and furniture humping.

So imagine our dismay when we find these kids stealing our grandfathers’ bit.

Here’s the original kinematoscope reel. You be the judge.

Liquid Doctr

Well, following last week’s surprise featurement of “Toothbrushing” on the front of myspace, imagine our surprise when they featured us AGAIN on Monday, trumpeting our almost-two-year-old standard, “Nature Footage: The Musical“as a “Cool New Video.” well, anyway, we’re not complaining, especially when the two videos combined get 300,000 views in a week.

In any case, let’s move on! Here’s a brand new video, from the show Dan’s Labyrinth. This one is called “Liquid Doctr.”

We’re trying something new here by hosting this on Google video. You’ll notice that this one comes in the form of a Flash thing, which will load hella faster than the other videos, whch should make it easier to watch, share, etc, without taking away the capability to download it in quicktime/ipod form if you want. We’d love to know how you like this arrangement. Leave a comment if you’ve got two cents.
